My intentions were to publish a book on this cemetery, but it is proving to be too time consuming for researchers.  I may still publish a book, for now though, I want to get the burials and other information online.

Oak Grove Cemetery is perhaps one of the oldest existing public cemeteries in Brunswick, and by existing I mean still viewable.  There is one older, but nothing remains of its existence, and it will be hard to prove who was buried within.  One known burial in that extinct City Cemetery was Benjamin Hart, Revolutionary War Veteran who died in 1802.

All of the material on this site is mine [Amy Hedrick] from personal transcriptions unless otherwise noted.  Many burials have been overlooked by the gentlemen who compiled two previous books on the cemetery.  Apparently they only used the cemetery records, and nothing more.  I have found several burials that existed in the cemetery when these books were compiled, that have been completely overlooked.

Therefore, I think it's time to create a new database.  There are many, many unmarked graves in this cemetery.  Where possible, I have attached names to some of those unmarked graves when a burial record was found.
