| William Page's entire estate was left to his
daughter Anna Matilda (Page) King, properties included two
plantations on St. Simons Island, and one on Colonel's Island.
Anna was an avid letter writer, and a modest record keeper.
Through her writings a family history can be built from the slave records
she kept and public records of the time. The most famous of these
families is that of
Neptune Small, whose father, Neptune Sr., was quite
possibly originally owned by Major Wm. Page. According to the
inventory, and Anna's writing, Neptune Sr. was a carpenter,
and the ages for the family were consistent through this inventory,
Anna's writings, and her own estate inventory
in 1860. |
