From exit 29 off of Interstate 95, travel east about 1.4 miles on Hwy. 17 North and turn left onto E. Fancy Bluff Road.  About 1.1 miles on your right will be the church.  The cemetery is located down a path beside the church.  There is a road you can turn on before E. Fancy Bluff, but these directions give you a little tour of the neighborhood, with less turns.

The death certificate for Amy L. (Parland) Pyles says that she was buried in Parland Cemetery; suggesting this cemetery existed before the church was built. It's possible this was the slave cemetery for the Parland slaves and after emancipation the church (even though it existed during slavery) erected a building by the cemetery and it then became First African Baptist Church.
