Holtzendorff

This cemetery is located on private property between Oak Grove Island and Hermitage Island of of Hwy. 341 near Sterling.  I will not post exact directions on this site, but will share them with descendants.

There are at least three graves within this plot, one unmarked and two marked by one stone.  There may be two infants buried here also.  We spent about an hour and a half clearing this plot to find the graves.  To the left is the before picture, and below is the after picture.

The marked graves are for John H. Holtzendorff (1843--1906) and Georgia I. Holtzendorff (1860--1935).  The unmarked grave may be one of their daughters, Maude (Holtzendorff) Jones (1889--January 1916).  It is unknown at this time whether there are two infants here or not.
