Burials
St. Mark's Church Records

*The numbers in brackets denote the record type, volume and page number from the original church book. Example [com.V1/12] Some entries have [loose papers] instead of a page number. These entries were taken from a series of loose papers found in the book. For whatever reason, some of the people have been listed more than once within the book and within the loose papers. I have included all entries.

conf=confirmation      com=communicant      bur=burial

     mar=marriage            fam=families                bap=baptism

One column in the burials section is titled B.C.C. and one, or all of the initials are entered. These letters stand for Baptized, Confirmed, Communicant. I have entered the letter only to save space and time. Some of the entries did not have a date of death filled in. When this occurs I have put the date that the entry was made in the book, which in most cases was a day after the death occurred.

The majority of the listings are as follow: Name, date; age; baptized, communed, confirmed; residence; date of death; cause of death; place of burial; signature of clergyman.
