Anna Matilda King
The following list of enslaved people was found in the estate
accounting of Anna Matilda (Page) King of Retreat Plantation, St. Simons
The people were listed in family units, the lines denote said families. Some people were bracketed together,
you will see these names with } after them to signify that they are together, either as husband and wife, or mother and child.
Surnames have been found for some of the former enslaved people. Their surnames via the 1870 census will be denoted thusly: [Small] Surnames with ? means that the name is only proven by census, nothing more.
